The ADOS 2 assessment is considered by the National Library of Medicine to be the "gold standard" in autism spectrum evaluations. It is a validated, standardized tool used by professionals to aid the diagnosis of autism. It consists of one of five different modules based on age and verbal ability in a comfortable, relaxed environment. For children it is play based and for teenagers and adults it is focused more on a conversational approach.
